Our Story

Meet the Founder

Julia began her fitness career at GoodLife Fitness as a Group Fitness Instructor, leading classes ranging from dance fitness to core strength training. With a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Winnipeg, she brought a strong foundation in movement to her teaching and soon expanded her skill set by earning her 200-hr Yoga Certification.

In 2020, Julia shifted her focus to one-on-one coaching and became a certified CANFITPRO Personal Trainer. Drawing from her background in Dance and Yoga, she applies a holistic approach to both teaching and training.

She is now certified in 14 specialties, including MindBody Recovery Coach (100-hour), Registered Yoga Instructor (200-hour), Applied Women’s Physiology in Training and multiple strength certifications. Julia strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can thrive, emphasizing client-forward programming, mental wellness, and community-building. After 12 years, in May 2025, she set out to bring her experience and philosophy together by launching her own business, Rooted.

Create a sanctuary where clients can strengthen their bodies and balance their minds, fostering a sense of peace and confidence in a busy world.
